The South African criminal justice system faces significant challenges in ensuring the protection of the rights of both victims of crime as well as persons accused of crimes.
Contact with the criminal justice system, including the South African Police Service and National Prosecuting Authority, whether as a victim of crime or as an accused person, offers little by way of certainty or peace of mind that justice will be done.
We therefore seek to offer our clients a robust legal service, which includes the following:
- Watching briefs on behalf of victims of crime where the proper functioning of the investigation and prosecution process is monitored and, where necessary, assisted;
- Bail applications, including emergency and/or after-hour call-outs;
- Conduct of defence at trial;
- Appeals and reviews of convictions.
