In a News24 article published on 14th December, International Relations and Cooperation Minister Naledi Pandor has warned that South African holidaymakers travelling abroad this festive season should take extra precautions, as they may be left stranded.
Pandor explained that many countries in the Northern Hemisphere are currently in the throws of a second wave of the pandemic, and so may encounter travel restrictions as a result of further lockdowns in the coming weeks. She gave several pieces of advice to South African travellers, including familiarising themselves with the health, immigration and Covid-19 restrictions in the country they are visiting, and making sure they have adequate travel insurance in place.
