Minister of Home Affairs Aaron Motsoaledi is extending South African visas that expired during lockdown. Longer term temporary visas for South African immigrants, such as study visas, critical skills visas and general work visas, have had their validity extended until July.
The extension does not apply to people who entered the country from March 15. In these cases, the normal validity period applies.
