Home Affairs minister Aaron Motsoaledi says that the upgrade project to solve the problem of delays at Home Affairs offices around the country is currently delayed.
Responding in a written parliamentary Q&A, Motsoaledi said several challenges had been identified by his department and the State Information Technology Agency (SITA), which are now being addressed. These include power supply issues, cable theft and ageing infrastructure, all of which mean that the completion date may be stretched to the end of the 2024/2025 financial year.
